Can anyone give me advice about using a dating site to meet women?

I'm having a hard time whether one of the girls I talk to you online – using i'M eHarmony – are really serious or not. I may be rushing things too. Initially, there seems to be interest, then, after about a week, I usually ask for their phone number and / or AIM, and I did not finish hear from them again, and I usually give either up or email again, and after no response.
