I’m single and was wondering does online dating really work?

I’m single and stay busy at work, I go out like every other week but I rarely see a girl that I’m interested in and if I do she’s spoken for so I was wondering does this online dating stuff really work. I’m skeptical because profiles and stuff can all be manipulated and I really don’t know what I’d be getting into but i guess thats a risk to take with online dating. So I was wondering if you guys had any success stories or should I just keep trying the “bar and club” scene?

I’ve had success with online dating.  I mean, you don’t always find the perfect person on the first couple of tries, but if you keep at it, you can find someone that will spark your interest.  The most important thing is to sign up with a good online dating site.  Some of them just plain suck.  I use FriendFinder.com and absolutely love it.  I’ve had a lot of success there.  Here is something I found on the internet reviewing some of the better online dating sites:

This is a site aimed at finding new types of friends, whether it be friends for social reasons, friends for sporting, or even finding people to dance with (granted, this can be a bit tough over the internet).  Overall, this is a pretty easy site to use.
