Quick Tips to Improve Your Self-Esteem

Building your self-esteem will help you see the world as a happier place.  Strong self-esteem can even influence how you live your daily life.   When you respect and believe in yourself there are no limits to what you can accomplish.

Here are a few quick tips to help you build a foundation for strong self-esteem:

1.      Set goals for yourself and take action. Set yourself up for success by planning the steps towards your goals.  Make your goals realistic and achievable.  Reward yourself for each step you accomplish as you move towards your goal.

2.      Make each day special.  Do something each and everyday to make it feel special.  It can be as simple as a walk, a nice dinner or watching your favorite movie.  Getting yourself out of a dull routine can do wonders for your mood.  Being in a good mood can make you feel on top of the world.

3.      Surround yourself with positive people and avoid those that are negative or play games.  Find people who inspire you.  Choose your friends wisely as they make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself.

4.      Have a sense of humor about yourself.   Learn to be able to laugh at yourself.  Find humor in the things that would normally upset you.  For instance; I tend to be clumsy, instead on criticizing myself, I understand it is part of who I am and am able to laugh it off.

5.      Take care of yourself.  Eat health, dress your best and add a little exercise to your daily routine, it will do wonders for your self-esteem.

6.      Remember…nobody is perfect.  Don’t think that everyone else but you has a perfect life and never criticize yourself for not having one.
